LAURENCE YADI

LAURENCE YADI was born on July the 5th 1973 in Argenteuil (France). Between 1989 and 1993, she danced under the direction of Diane Deschamps, whilst following a course of “sport-études” in Paris. In 1993, she received a scholarship to attend the Alvin Ailey center of New York. Back in Paris, she then joined the Ballet J. Art of Paris for a period of 3 years. In 1999, she headed for Germany and danced for Karen Effenberger and Vera Sander. In 2000, she worked as choreographic assistant for Rui Horta and started a series of collaborations in Switzerland with Bruno Steiner, Guilherme Botelho, Kylie Walters and Gisela Rocha. In 2000 she founded the Compagnie 7273 with Nicolas Cantillon.
In 2003, invited by Rui Horta, they participated in the project Colina (Portugal) where they met Julião Sarmento who hired them for an art installation.
