Conceptual remark
Figure 5, a piece created for three dancers and a drummer, is inspired by the chorographical material of Climax (2006). The choreographers Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon used this occasion to revisit the form of the solo thus elaborating it into a short piece of approx. 12 minutes. Figure 5 carries the stigmas typical of the chorographical language, inherent of the original piece, thereby creating a kind of perpetual dance without stops or “dead-zones”, and without any graduation or emotional affect. But the natural, organic and elaborated structure, which Graziela Jouan described when considering Climax, becomes subject to a change of speed. While researching the fragmented form of an explosion, the choreography receives a pronounced acceleration.
