Family Dance



Destinated for one parent and one of the family’s children

Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon discovered the project Family Dance in Barcelona. The initiator, Juan Eduardo Lopez, encouraged them to direct a workshop which would incorporate parents and children from the age of 4 to 12 years. This experience was a challenge to the two choreographers who then decided to start the project in Geneva. The objective is to propose an encounter between professionals, parents and children in the field of dance. The act of touch, carry, embrace in an artistic setting with the advice of experts in movement represent the orientation to establish new links between children and their parents. During the two hours of exchange, the parents and their children become aware of a new complicity. Following the workshop the experience is not just a memory, but this awareness of the body accompanies the children and the parents through a very intimate journey. Sport jerseys are obligatory!

Compagnie 7273 works with the support of a convention by the City of Geneva, the Republic and the Canton of Geneva and Pro Helvetia for the period 2009-2011.
