News Laurence Yadi, Nicolas Cantillon and the staff of Compagnie 7273 wish you a Great and Wonderful New Year 2012 ! Laurence Yadi, Nicolas Cantillon - Compagnie 7273 received the SWISS DANCE AND CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD 2011. Read the ProTanz press release : here NIL (english : NILE) - creation 2011 Laurence Yadi, Nicolas Cantillon - Compagnie 7273 (Switzerland – France) presents currently the recent creation NILE during their tour : Nil : here CREATIONS & TOURS 2012. Complete tour schedule as confirmed until now : here During the course of the year 2011, the Compagnie 7273 performed in Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, USA and Porto Rico, as well as Colombia, South-Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, with a total of more than 60 performances, plus a dozen of signed productions by Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon and staged by different companies such as the Ballet of the Geneva Opera House, the Geneva Junior Ballet and the company of Mai-Thu Perret. Compagnie 7273 thus presented several pieces of its repertoire like Romance-s, Listen & watch, Climax, On stage, and alsoe La vision du lapin. Hence the year has been marked by the two new group pieces : Nile in January 2011 and then a new version of Petrouchka in Oktober. The Compagnie 7273 will restart touring from mid-March 2012 with Nil for two representations at the Dampfzentrale in Bern, Switzerland. The daily training for the professional dancer, offered free of charge and directed by Nicolas Cantillon, take place several times per year, like recently during the rehearsal period of Nile in autumn. The next sessions will start again in February 2012 during the preparation for the spring tours of the company in Switzerland, France and the Middle-East : "While searching for a continuous movement without interruption, Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon work on articulated compositions where single each piece of the chain embraces the following in an organic and natural way and allowing the largest possible corporal variations. Spleen of an elastic boby - in between relaxation and deep muscular resistance : they propose an introverted track of motion and swing that may lead to a hypnotic and spiral dance form." (Tatiana Julien) PEDAGOGICAL WORKSHOPS The Compagnie 7273 also proposes the pedagogical project Danse en famille (english: Family Dance). Directly inspired by the Catalan project of Juan Eduardo Lopez in Barcelona, the two choreographers develop, in agreement with its initiator, encounters linked to dance for children in the age from 4 to 12 years and their parents. After the pilot project during the Festival de La Bâtie in 2010 in Geneva, and then at LausanneDanse10, numerous sessions have since then been realized during the season 2010/11 in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud in collaboration with the dance platform Danse Plus in Lancy, Canton of Geneva. Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon also enrich their experience abroad when organizing workshops during their international tours (Porto Rico, South-Africa, Mozambique, Spain...) and on the occasion of workshops with very different participants from various cultural horizons.
